TITANIUM COATINGS
Wrentham can supply punches with two types of wear resistant
Titanium Nitride coating, Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and
Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). The properties of Titanium Nitride
that make it useful are its hardness and low coefficient of friction.
When applied to punches the coating acts as a chemical and thermal
barrier between the punch and the screw. The low coefficient of
friction helps to prevent galling and metal pick-up, resulting
in increased punch life, improved surface finish, and minimized
downtime from fewer setups. Wrentham can quote other special coating
requirements upon request.
TITANIUM NITRIDE PLUS
Wrentham Tool Products can also supply punches and pins with
Titanium Nitride Plus coating. These punches are highly polished
prior to CVD or PVD coating. This results in an increase of benefits
as specified above.
CALIBRATION
Wrentham Tool can inspect and certify your penetration gages,
plug gages, ring gages, and test blocks. We certify to known standards
applicable for the various recess types: ANSI/ASME B.18.6.4-1981,
Screw Research Assoc. and Phillips® Screw Standards.
